WP C
Sediment is typically not seen as a resource for flood risk and erosion by land managers, erosion and civil engineering experts and society. The goal of this WP is to make the increase in sediment reuse in such applications attractive and to increase the willingness to implement such solutions in public authorities, sectorial agencies, infrastructure and service providers, interest groups, SMEs and enterprises and the general public. The strategy will be based on addressing the target audience with positive information on sediment reuse long term interests for territories and citizens through economic savings, employment impacts, safety, biodiversity, circular economy and the use of a local waste resource instead of raw material. The tactic is to show sediment as an attractive resource and solution to erosion and flood risk through communications activities for technical experts (main target: erosion and civil engineering experts/associated target: land managers and sediment managers) and also for non-experts and concerned public (main target: local authorities/associated target: NGOs, general public). Following this, the communication WP will be based on activities in which all partners will participate. Some activities will target the technical expert audience with technical/scientific communications to increase land manager, erosion and civil engineering experts’ and sediment managers' knowledge and others will target the non-technical audience to increase awareness of people directly concerned with erosion and flood risk through sediment reuse opportunities. This will be linked with all WPs (except management) and will use networks from each country to maximise impacts. All partners will be involved in the communication content under the lead of the communication manager. They will use their local contacts and networks for a strong dissemination in each country and will use their international networks for a wider impact within the EU and worldwide.
Activities
This activity produces and disseminates information and publications for non-experts and experts to increase numbers concerned by erosion, flood risk and sediment reuse.
These will be published in the general or technical press and will be presented in technical conferences dealing with erosion, flood risk and sediment and in local public meetings.
The main targeted audience are people in decision making or advice/guidance positions in local and regional public authorities, SME and enterprises.
Partners will produce technical and general information to be disseminated online through partners’ websites, newsletters and social networks.
Specific content will be designed for non partner websites supporting SURICATES activities.
The TEAM2 website will integrate erosion and flood risk issues from State of Art, possibly supplemented by the partners during the project, linked with SURICATES proposed solutions.
Promotional non-technical supports will be produced at the beginning of and during the project to promote its attractiveness.
General communication supports will be updated during the project with communication supports giving a specific focus to project results and will support press releases and digital activities as associated documentation.
At the project, end a hard copy reference book with the main results and a road map for dissemination will be produced for VIP communities in NWE.
This activity will consist of developing a joint communication strategy and communication workplan documents at an early stage of the project.
